Certainly, James should have known when he invited her over for dinner, tonight, without cause, that it would've appeared he was asking her over for dinner, as in a date-dinner. Now he feels rather ridiculous without his other shoe, and he might've put on actual pants instead of jeans. Her dress suits her perfectly, a light rosy lilac, and he's never noticed Moira in this way, in anything beyond general acknowledgement. Now that he notices, it's hard not to realize that he finds her attractive.
He enters into the kitchen beside her, having laid out all the dinner once again on the island, because he thought this was just a casual thing. "I don't really," he admits. He didn't feel like calling to the house again for dinner, else someone might wonder why he needed two big meals in such a short time. "You're looking at the entirety of my culinary prowess."
He seats himself on one of the stools and unfolds one of the napkins, tucking it into his shirt. Lobster was a messier dish, and he hoped she didn't mind.
