James hesitates for a moment, but he nods in the end. His brothers and sister are everything to him. He is their older brother, and he's always tried to do what's best for them after their mother died and they were all stuck under William's wrath. "I promise I'll try," he says, patting Daniel on the shoulder. "Or, very least, I'll keep Father off your back."
